Creating a level for scanning

Creating a new level

To scan drawings, you need to create a new level. A level is simply a collection of drawings usually showing one character, and lasting for part or all of one scene.

  1. Choose File > New > Level. The New Level dialog box appears:
  1. Choose the location for the new level; see Locating a file.

Naming the level

You'll then be asked to give a level name. This is just a short name up to four characters long. It's used for all the drawings in the level, to help you identify them later on.

  1. Type in a Level Name in the Set level name dialog box:
This is the first part of the numbering for your drawings. For example, if your drawings are numbered 'A1', 'A2', 'A3', etc, you'd set the Level Name to 'A'. (You'll learn how to set up the numeric part of the numbering later on.)
  1. Click on OK, or press Return.
  1. Now you've finished setting up the level, the Drawing Browser window is updated with the level information:
The Drawing Browser window displays the drawings that are scanned into the level. Since you've only just created the level, it is empty.
